In Brasília, the Clean Up the World event had a solemn opening with the presentation of na orchestra comprised of students of the American School in Brasília. Also participated in this collective effort 50 Boy Scouts, approximately 200 volunteers on the ground and 50 scuba divers. The cleanup took place in assorted spots by the shores of the Lake and in creeks and parks adjacent to the Paranoá , as well as in water sources nearby. (continue)
   
“Clean Construction Waste Program” (“Programa Entulho Limpo”, PEL), aims to stimulate construction companies to implement procedures for enabling selective collection of the residues generated at civil construction sites. Moreover, this program promotes the recycling of these residues. (continue)
